Tämän laadullisen opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on edistää Mäntyharjun kunnan ja paikallisten yrittäjien välistä yhteistyötä. Tutkimuksen tavoitteeseen pyritään sel-vittämällä, mitä mieltä yrittäjät olivat Mäntyharjun kunnan kanssa vuonna 2011 tehdystä yhteistyöstä. Tuona vuotena yhteistyötä tehtiin suurella teholla 27.6.–10.7.2011 järjestettävien Loma-asuntomessujen inspiroimana.
Työn teoriaosa käsittelee julkisen ja yksityisen sektorin välistä yhteistyötä. Tässä osuudessa paneudutaan varsinkin Mäntyharjussa vuonna 2011 tehtyyn yhteistyö-hön. Lisäksi teoriaosassa käsitellään markkinointia sekä tapahtumien erilaisia vai-kutuksia tapahtumapaikkakuntaan ja sen yrittäjiin.
Tutkimuksen tulokset tullaan lähettämään Mäntyharjun kunnan päättäjille. Tulok-sia hyväksi käyttäen kunnan toimijoiden on mahdollista kehittää ja suunnitella yrittäjien kanssa tehtävää yhteistyötä. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin teemahaastattelu-jen avulla.
Tutkimuksessa tuli ilmi, että yrittäjät ovat tyytyväisiä Mäntyharjun kunnan kanssa vuonna 2011 tehtyyn yhteistyöhön. Se toimi hyvin ja lähensi yrittäjien mukaan toimijoita keskenään. Paikalliset yrittäjät toivovat kovasti yhteistyön jatkumista myös tulevaisuudessa.

The goal of this qualitative thesis is to promote co-operation between Mäntyharju community and local self-employed persons. The goal of this thesis is to discover, how local self-employed persons felt about co- operation with Mäntyharju com-munity in year 2011. During this year co-operation got more intensive because, Holiday Housing Fairs were organized in Mäntyharju 27th of June to 10th of July.
The theoretical part of thesis is about co-operation between public and private sector. This part will especially explain how local community and self-employed persons made co-operation work in Mäntyharju in Year 2011. Theoretical part tells also about local entrepreneurs marketing. At the end it will cover what impacts events have on self-employed persons and local community business.
Results of this thesis will be sent to the community of Mäntyharju. With the re-sults of this thesis they can develop local co-operation, and plan how to make it even better. Research data was collected with theme interviews.
Results of this thesis showed that local self-employed persons are satisfied with the cooperative work that they did with the community of Mäntyharju. Co-operation worked well for them and it made self-employed persons closer to the community of Mäntyharju. Local entrepreneurs hope that this co-operation will continue in the future and that it will be developed even more in the future.
