Tiivistelmä
This project started as the Ministry of Education and Culture (OKM) wanted to develop sports facility maintenance. The Federation of Finnish Sports Professionals was chosen to be the organization responsible from the implementation.
Because of the huge amount of money bound on sports facilities OKM thought it is important to keep these facilities in good shape. In Finland, there are nowadays about 30 000 sports facilities, of which the replacement value is roughly around 11 billion. Municipalities own 75% of these sports facilities.
The project started in 2011 and was planned to be finished by the end of 2012. During the implementation the project got additional funding which enabled the project to continue to the end of 2013. The goals for the project were to develop a documentation model for the sports facility maintenance plan and to develop a web page for the sports facility maintenance personnel. The action research model was used as a method in the project.
The result of the project was a web service www.liikuntapaikkojenhoito.fi. The web service includes a maintenance plan documentation program. The web service was a result of multiprofessional co-operation. The development and the use of the web service will continue after the project is finished.
