Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön aiheena on tutkia toimeksiantajan käyttämien henkilökohtaisten
vaarojen tunnistuslomakkeiden toimivuutta ja tuottaa kehitysehdotuksia. Lomakkeesta haluttiin kehittää entistä käyttäjäystävällisempi ja enemmän työntekijän omaa ajattelua korostava. Työn toimeksiantaja on Metsä Board Kyro, Metsä Groupiin kuuluva kartonkitehdas.
tunnistuksiin. Tunnistettavia vaaroja voisi olla viisasta yhdistää laajemmiksi
kokonaisuuksiksi, jotta täytettäviä kohtia olisi vähemmän. Benchmark-analyysi
tunnisti joitakin yleisesti käsiteltyjä vaaroja, joiden sisällyttämistä toimeksiantajan lomakkeeseen on syytä harkita. Opinnäytetyö oli kokonaisuudessaan onnistunut. The objective of this thesis was to describe the current situation of the personal hazard assessment forms in use by the commissioner and suggest
ways to improve the forms. More specifically the commissioner was looking for
ways to make the forms more user-friendly and to place emphasis on the
workers’ ability to identify hazards not mentioned in the assessment form.
The thesis was made to answer two research questions: what the current situation of the commissioner’s form was and how it could be improved. The work
was completed using a qualitative case study. Two research methods were
used: semi-structured interviews with the commissioner’s personnel and the
benchmarking of the commissioner’s hazard assessment against similar tools
used by comparable organizations. The personnel invited to an interview were
drawn from different job descriptions and shifts. The goal of the interviews was
to describe common experiences and feelings toward the assessment form
among the personnel and to describe viable solutions to uncovered problems.
The participants for benchmarking were selected from among organizations
similar to the commissioner working in the same business sector. The participant organizations were asked for a copy of a tool like the personal hazard assessment form if they had one in use. The materials given by the participants
were then compared to the commissioner’s form to identify areas where the
form could be improved and to describe possible improvements. Overall, the personal hazard assessment form used by the commissioner was well liked and effective. The most important improvement could be made in the areas of availability and ease of use of the form, particularly as the commissioner is switching over to an electronic assessment form. The hazards to be identified could be reworked into larger categories containing a group of related hazards to shorten the form and force the personnel to think more comprehensively instead of checking boxes by rote. Benchmarking identified some typical hazards that the commissioner should consider adding to their personal hazard assessment form. Overall, the thesis was successful.
